Summer Institute for Authentic Learning and Leadership

Sarah Pence and Karmyn Metzger are Worthington City Schools educators. Sarah has been teaching in Worthington for 14 years, in both third and fourth grade. Karmyn has been teaching for 13 years, in both second and third grade. They enjoy focusing on the whole child and getting to know their students. They both value creativity and have grown a lot through professional development experiences, such as the Cultivating Creative and Civic Capacities (C4) project, the Summer Institute, and the Agents of Change Festival. Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and five-year-old daughter and also dancing, reading, and traveling. Karmyn enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, and also gardening, yoga, and music.
