Think outside the box by teaching with the box! You don't need a massive budget or a high-tech makerspace to bring powerful, hands-on learning into your classroom. This interactive session explores how to transform everyday recyclable materials—from cardboard boxes to plastic caps—into dynamic learning tools that seamlessly integrate into your existing daily routines.

We will look past basic crafting and focus on how upcycled materials can be intentionally mapped to your academic standards. Discover practical, low-prep strategies to use these resources for standard review, real-world application, and creative extension. Leave with a blueprint of ready-to-use ideas that will spark student curiosity, minimize your footprint, and maximize your instructional impact.

Come one, come all! No previous skill required - just the willingness to try something new (think juggling and/or balloon twisting!) in an effort to truly feel what authentic learning is like. With many metaphors and direct connections to the work we do, this session will allow participants to try a new skill and build meaningful connections to how authentic learning for everyone in a school -- all roles -- help enhance the learning process.
