Summer Institute for Authentic Learning and Leadership

Systems leadership means holding fast to a shared vision while successfully navigating changing regulatory conditions, maintaining optimism, and supporting everyone on board. Reflecting on a 20-year voyage through the shifting tides of Ohio’s gifted education system, this session explores the history of our field and the lessons learned along the way. In this session, we will explore the question of how we can protect the soul of our classrooms without falling behind on curriculum or other mandates.  We will share and brainstorm intentional, low-lift, high-impact strategies designed to foster authentic belonging and joy. We will create a “toolkit for belonging” of micro-shifts that fit into the transitions, morning meetings, and even the rigorous academic blocks you are already teaching.  Join us to rediscover the spark that brought you to education and generate ideas on how to build a classroom community that feels like a destination, not just a requirement.
